We are seeking a driven, high-energy Business Development Associate with a strong “hunter” mentality to aggressively source and originate investment opportunities across private and public markets. This role is heavily focused on outbound outreach, relationship building, and creating proprietary deal flow, while also supporting investment analysis and execution.
You will work directly with senior leadership and be on the front lines of building the firm’s pipeline engaging with business owners, CEOs, founders, brokers, and bankers. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and is motivated by results, access, and upside.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Proactively source new investment opportunities through high-volume outbound outreach (calls, email, LinkedIn, networking)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, founders, brokers, and intermediaries
- Develop and execute targeted sourcing campaigns across industries and geographies
- Identify off-market opportunities and generate proprietary deal flow
- Represent the firm in meetings, conferences, and industry events to expand network and pipeline
- Manage and maintain CRM systems to track outreach, pipeline activity, and deal progress
- Drive follow-ups, nurture relationships, and push opportunities through the pipeline
Investment Analysis & Execution (Secondary Focus)
- Evaluate inbound and sourced opportunities through financial and strategic analysis
- Perform financial statement analysis and build valuation models
- Assist in developing investment theses, presentations, and internal memos
- Support due diligence and transaction execution efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ year of experience in business development, sales, investment banking, private equity,
- or a highly outbound, relationship-driven role
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, cold outreach, and build a pipeline from scratch
- Strong communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable engaging with senior executives and decision-makers
- Highly motivated, competitive, and results-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in M&A sourcing, deal origination, or broker/intermediary relationships
- Background in investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
- Familiarity with CRM tools and outreach tracking systems
- Exposure to small/middle-market businesses or micro-cap public companies
- Conference-driven sourcing and networking experience
Department: Business & Development
Location: Newport Beach, CA + Travel
Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000
Status: Exempt
Reports To: Chairman
Working Conditions
Occasional travel may be required to support customers, suppliers, or other company sites.
